After a string of routs, Iga Swiatek was finally pushed, if you can call it that. Today in the Doha semifinals, Swiatek kept on her run with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Coco Gauff.

Swiatek is now 6-0 against the American teen winning all 12 of their sets. Today’s match saw the world No. 1 capitalize on a slew of forehand errors from Gauff.

“Coco is a great player and I knew it was going to be tough. Especially after last year when we played five times, because you never know if you’re going to see something new or not,” Swiatek said to the WTA.

Swiatek advances to her 15th career final where tomorrow she’ll bid for career title No. 13 against fellow French winner Barbora Krejcikova.

The Czech bounced No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula in three sets 6-1, 5-7, 6-0. The 27-year-old Krejcikova broke serve six times in the match and she took six of the last eight points en route to her 9th career final.

Krejcikova improves to 4-9 against Top 5 players and levels her head-to-head in two meetings with Pegula, getting revenge for a loss to the 29-year-old last month in Australia.

“I felt good, even though the second set didn’t go my way,” Krejcikova said. “I was still thinking that I had a big chance, and was going for my shots and just try to play my best tennis.

“I had to against Jessica, she’s a great player, and I’m really happy that I was able to do that.”

Tomorrow she’ll try to even her series with Swiatek in their fourth collision. She’ll also bid for her 6th career title. Both players are solid in finals with Swiatek 12-2, Krejcikova is 6-2.

“It’s always very nice to play the best one in the world, and she’s the best one right now,” Krejcikova said of Swiatek. “She was the best one last year. She’s playing some great tennis so I’m really looking forward to play against her and see where my level is. I think it’s going to be a great final.”
