Pulp have announced their signing to Rough Trade. “Rough Trade have managed Pulp for over 30 years so it feels great to be finally on the label. We did it!” the Britpop band said in a statement.

Pulp reunited in 2022, after more than a decade apart, for a run of shows in England and Ireland. They have since been performing new music live, though the signing announcement makes no mention of new recordings. This year, Jarvis Cocker and the band played their first North American tour since 2012, which was dedicated to their late bassist Steve Mackey, who died in March of 2023.

Revisit Simon Reynolds’ Sunday Review of Pulp’s Different Class, and see where the album fell on Pitchfork’s list of the 150 Best Albums of the 1990s.
